I'm not suggesting they did, but considering the money spent on advertising that no one takes much notice of, to get the same political capital by standard means would be pretty expensive.

43-since you are so polite. The joke allegedly was supposed to be "if you don't study you will be stupid enough to get us stuck in Iraq", he delivered it as "if you don't study you'll be stupid enough to get stuck in Iraq". And as I've answered you, please edit to explain what "go big red go" means.
jonjon418-don't take things so personally, the question was intended as neutral, answers from democrats and republicans being both welcome, and respected- we don't have to fight about everything. And since you were being personal; if the election was to be decided by people smarter than me, as you suggested, I would have to assume that you weren't voting in it-but please do.

"big red" is the army's 1st infantry battalion.
the proper term is "the big red 1"
if you were in it you would say ..
"if you are going to be one.... be a big red 1"
some folks here misuse it by referring to the red states as big red

I'm guessing 0 ZERO . He is on the Intelligence commitee and should know these words will play well in Iraq. The military needs our support not to be put down for getting an education through service. He should resign.

Hear that sound? It's the sound of nobody caring about this story except Rush Limbaugh and his groupies.

P.S. It's cute that said groupies apparently have such a low opinion of the intelligence of Americans in general that they think this conflated non-story is going to make them forget about the compounded disasters of the Bush Regime and his rubber-stamp Congress, but you're in for a harsh reality check next week. For which you can THANK all the people who are so much smarter than you are.

No way to even estimate. The damage Kerry has done to his party will be seen next week. If I had to guess though I would say several million dollars.

I've often though how much it would cost to buy out Rush, Hannity, and O'Reilly. I figure 10% of the cost of the war in Iraq ought to do it nicely.
