you recognize a living thing by seven charachteristics...Movement Sensitivity Respiration Reproduction Excretion Nutrition and Growth...if sumtin has all these charachteristics, its living ...its clear except for viruses...cuz they can only reproduce with a host cell

There are a few properties associated with living things...reponse to stimuli, reproduction, movement, excretion, respiration,growth, and eating (feeding of some sort). In order to be living, an organism must display the aforementioned characteristics. Non living organisms may display one or two but not all.

organism: any living thing. plants, animals, bacteria, etc. non-living organism: no such thing. Your probably meant non-organism, which would be rocks, plastic, paper, etc. however, viruses are considered to be non-organisms because they aren't capable of independent reproduction or metabolism.

if its non-living...isnt that organism technically not an organism....just a decaying body...?
