This is a conspiracy to obtain or procure a Class A proscribed drug as referred to in the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. However, so far no offence has been committed, as to obtain a conviction under the Act the people concerned must be in possession of the drug. Once the person sent off to buy the tablets has bought them, the position will change as that person will be in possession of the tablets on behalf of the group. The CPS would have a really hard time proving it, though, if everyone else were to deny having any connection with the whole sordid affair. When a person is found with a large supply of a proscribed drug he can normally expect to be charged with possession with intent to supply. Once the tablets have been delivered and the group is undeniably in possession, then the prosecution are home and dry and will be able to secure convictions for possession of a Class A proscribed drug.

Hi Andos.
In UK Law....
Yes, they have comitted an offence, it is conspiracy to obtain a controlled drug contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Even if they do not succeed they still intended to do it knowing that it was illegal. They also agreed that one of the group make the attempt to obtain the drugs. This is unlawful under the Criminal Attempts Act 1981.
They are all equally guilty of an offence.

No, I'm not a criminal. But I'm afraid I did some crimes before, albeit due to youthful ignorance and peer pressure, though I never compromised my own personal boundaries, i.e. I was there, but I didn't participate. Looking back, I should've just parted ways with them when our moralities clashed, but since I finally did that I haven't made any new friends.

1. Ecstasy is illegal. You cannot buy or sell it.
2. Everyone taking part in the purchase or use of an illegal drug is committing a crime.
