I mean there are thousands of people in places like Africa who are dying of starvation and AIDS and going through Hell and no one gives a ****. Maybe if rich countries like the USA and other rich countries would show some ******* compassion toward these poor countries and not stay in places like Iraq and steal the arabs oil then maybe everyone would live longer and we wouldn't hear about all these little children dying and digging through trash piles in order to eat something.

I have been saying this for years. We should also try and take care of HOME as well. We have people that need to be helped right here in our own country, but we spend money and time and resources on things that are doing us no good @ this moment. Really, why do we have to go to the moon. Do you really think that we are moving to another planet. COME ON!!!

First, you need to document where we "steal the arabs oil". This is simply a lie, and you need to go back to where you heard it, and have them account for it.

We have a huge United Nations and United States sponsored network of foreign aid, and it does precious little good. Why? Because the corruption of those countries prevents needed supplies from reaching needed areas. Instead, your tax and charitable dollars instead go to helping corrupt government officials and the people that bribe them.

So the food gets taken off the plane, and put in a warehouse for distribution to the people. There, it rots in the warehouse, because the local governor would rather spend money on his home rather than a truck to pick up the medicine.

Or even better, the AIDS medication gets sent to the Ministry of Health. The government staff steal 25% of the medication, and sell it for their own profit. Then it gets put on a truck and sent to the people. On the way, local bandits hijack the truck and demand payment for passage. That's half of the leftover medication, which is usually sold to buy arms to terrorize the local people. Then the truck arrives at the small town with AIDS patients. The mayor of the town takes the medication, and destroys it, because he believes that the medication is poison from the West, and that AIDS is not caused by the HIV virus, a common belief in Africa.

So the only people that get the medication are those that could afford to buy it.

You want More of this?

There is no way that stealing from some may help others. You set a bad example. Also the kind of help that has been done through donations, according to the people in the affected countries themselves state it doesn't do any good, for the donations end up in the wrong hands and hinder entreprise, i. e. people get used to relying to alms instead of seeking for solutions. Their own economy suffers, once people will wait for the alms instead of buying their own production which leads to people not producing anything at all, and lots of unemployed migrating to the big cities and being reduced to misery.
The rich countries could stop protecting themselves and opening their economy to products from poor countries so that their economies would be stimulated and had a chance to strive.

Like they say everybody has an opinion and here is mine: First Charity begins at home, here in the USA. Second, one of the main reasons people are poor and starving in other countries is that their governments(If you really want to call some of them one??) keep the people in poverty for Control. Third, over 50% of any type of relief sent to countries with "Poverty" ends up in the the government and or Military control. Now, if you want to protest the way things go on over there, GO THERE and you will probably end up going bye bye and never seen again especially in Africa.

How about rich people in this country alone donating a part of their paycheck everyweek to communities that are in need, it would be phenominal, but that will never happen, because the rich need someone to be poor to keep them important.

I think countries should be taking better care of its citizens BEFORE taking care of anyone else. The US does a horrendously bad job of taking care of its citizens. Something is wrong when a person can work 8+ hours a day and still barely manage to pay their bills.

I think we should. Yes, there are people here at home that need help--but our country has enough to take care of all those people (if folks would stop trying to ruin the necessary programs and be willing to pony up the taxes for it). We have plenty and to spare to take care of ourselves and others, too, if we just took the initiative. It's shame on us that we haven't.

how about the taking care of the poor people who can't eat in our own country before we worry about other countries. and before we invest any money in those poor countries, how about those countries government show compassion for their own people first and set up food banks or something to help.

the US has spent trillions in foreign aid to Africa since the 60's and it has done nothing but increase the numbers of the suffering and make it impossible for African farmers to make a living, which leads to greater dependency.

what the rich countries need to do it take out the dictator's who are getting rich and living well off of oppressing their ppl, then the ppl can get rich themselves. blame those responsible, the dictator's not the rich countries who allow their citizens rights and freedoms. funny though wheneve the u.s., one of the richest countries, tries to bring rights and freedoms into another country by destroying the dictators who suppress it they are attacked for that. change is sometimes painful, revolution most times brings death but out of this change and revolution comes freedom.
