Doesnt matter, Kerry is ONE OF THE TROOPS and he could never insult us.
Bush on the other hand, hid from the Viet Cong in a cushy stateside champagne unit reserved for NFL players and Politicians sons.
Im more OUTRAGED at that.
--bryn above, theres alot of truth in what you say.

The "botched" claim was a well decided short answer for what he said.
You botch a joke when you tell it wrong or give out the punch line at the wrong point.
He didn't botch a joke.
He told an insulting joke.
More or less if you don't amount to something you will have to go into the military and probably be stationed in Iraq so be smart and go to college.
That is exactly how the guy feels. He worked hard to get those purple hearts as he was using them for political reasons. I guarantee he is the only one that you know that has 3 purple hearts and didn't spend a single day in the hospital and was only off work for half a day.
He was in the military for his political career as his dad instructed and got out as soon as he could.
His rich daddy, a Harvard lawyer, spent most of his life in high government positions working at different embassies, mostly in Russia and Berlin. He was rich enough to send him to a private Swiss boarding school as a kid and got Kerry into Yale where, now after the election, we see that Kerry was less bright than Bush carrying four D's in his freshman year in history and political science classes. His highest grade was a B.
Did Kerry simply forget his grades when it was such a big issue in the election? For some reason after the election and his grades were revealed he remembers that he said to his dad, ''I always told my Dad that D stood for distinction."
Yeah, he has every right in the world to say the military is made up of a bunch of stupid fools because they didn't go to college. But of course if the grunts could have gone to an elite Swiss boarding school and make D's at Yale, then they could amount to something like Kerry. The war protester that told us how he behaved like Genghis Khan and the Democrats elected him to office.
For those that don't know the word "Opportunist," you now know the definition. Simply John Kerry. Ditto his wife. They all flock together.

Kerry is a joke ! He said what he thinks . He isn't wrong. LOL He has taken advantage of every oportunity to demean our soldiers. I think he should resign after all he is a Senator and what he said is damaging to the war effort and the troops . I'll bet Algezera will play the video over and over .

It was a botched joke... but Kerry needs to learn there are somethings you just should not joke about. If he would have been more concerned with what he was saying than trying to attack Bush.... he would not be facing this controversy right now.

A Freudian slip, or parapraxia, is an error in human action, speech or memory that is believed to be caused by the unconscious mind. Some errors, such as a woman accidentally calling her husband by the name of the man with whom she is cheating on him or John Kerry calling veterans and active service members stupid soldiers.
No, the slip was NOT intentional.

Kerry said what he meant to say. Our troops don't need to be joked about to begin with. Kerry is the joke here.

Whether he was telling a joke or not, he still needs to apologize for what it sounded like he was saying - just as every conservative politician has had to apologize profusely for every mis-construed statement made over the past year.
