...I think she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars. I know the CD itself had a green cover. I had the album when I was 14 but sold it because I never listened to it. Now 11 years later I heared the song and wondered...

the most underrated band of the 90's, HUM
the song is their second album, You'd Prefer An Astronaut.

their overall style is at once immense and disarming - a huge guitar driven sound undercut by a softspoken vocalist and a sense of sweet despair. so get their other two albums: Electra 2000, and Downward Is Heavenward. you will Not be dissapointed.

Stars
by Hum
album: You'd Prefer An Astronaut (1995)

She thinks she missed the train to mars, she's out back counting stars
She's not at work, she's not at school
She's not in bed, i think i finally broke her
I bring her home everything i want, nothing that she needs
I thought she'd be there holding daisies, she always waits for me
She thinks she missed the train to mars, she's out back counting stars
I found her out back sitting naked looking up and looking dead
a crumpled yellow piece of paper, seven nines and tens
I thought she'd be there holding daisies, she always waits for me
She thinks she missed the train to mars, she's out back counting stars
I thought you'd be there holding daisy, you always wait for me
She thinks she missed the train to mars, she's out back counting stars

Finch or Hum. And for future refference, google part of the lyrics you're looking for and attach the word "lyric" at the end. You'll generally get the answer you seek........... ; )
