My nail polish always looks different. My friend and I can use the same bottle of polish and we'll have two completely different colors, but mine is nothing like the one in the bottle! I've had lipsticks do this to me, as well. And perfumes always smell differently! It just has to do with the chemicals in your body mixing with the chemicals of the products. I have never tried the Dior lipstick, nor have I found a red I love yet, but I think you've just got to experiment until you find the one you love, even if it's not what it said on the package! hee hee. Most cosmetic studios will let you try the lipsticks before you buy, so you don't have to buy a million and one lipsticks to find "the one". Good luck!

there is a product called 'Lipcote' It is a clear lipstick sealer, which will holder your lipstick in place for up to 8-9 hours, and as youa pply it, it darkens the colour slightly. this product is fab! dont forget though your lips are a different colour and texture to your skin, so testing lippy's on the back of your hand will not give you an accurate result, if you do this and like the shade on your hand, choose the next shade up or down from the one you tried (lighter for darker lips, darker for lighter lips)

That is caused by the Ph balance in your skin, try a light layer of foundation over your lips, then the lipstick. The foundation should help balance the Ph.

Your lips are not the same color as your hands...which is why it looks different on. Reds are tricky. Try the variety of reds by MAC but make sure you try it at the counter first before you buy it. I think matte reds are the best.

It probably has something to do with your body temperature, that is why the same colours of foundation and lipstick can look different on two different people.

Maybe because when it dries it becomes lighter... I would try a darker shade of the same brand and see if when it dries it looks more like the color you want : )

if you have noticed your hand is not the same color as your lips. try next time the lip stick on your finger and then on your mouth and see how it look.and if it still dont show the color that you want try getting a even brighter color.
