I type for an hour then print it out. I lay it out in my hallway and measure it with a Craftsman Measuring tape. I find I have more spellings errors if I don't use a Craftsman !

Try downloading "Typer Shark" from Yahoo! Games or popcap.com. It has a feature in it that measures your typing speed.

it's how many (correct) words per minute. you could time yourself, or there are very likely some typing tests you can find online, or else buy some typing software, which you can find at Best Buy or just about anywhere that sells educational software.
