That depends on the source you get it from!

In theory, water has a pH of 7. If you could separate it from all influences, the disassociation constant of water would keep about 10^-7 M amounts of both [H+] and [OH-]. If you distill pure water and measure the pH, that's what you'll get.

Over a couple hours the pH will change as the pure water absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This reacts with the water to form carbonic acid, lowering the pH to about 5.8.

In rain and the like, this effect has been countered, however, with other impurities that react with the carbonic acid, as well as producing their own effects. Sea water has a pH of about 8.0, while water from streams and rain is usually closer to 7.

The pH of pure water is 7. 7 is considered 'neutral' on the pH scale.

in theory it's 7, but pure water has a tendency to show up slightly acidic deping on the pH meter

Pure water should be 7

Actually ph value of PURE, DISTILLED water is 6.8
Did testing on this in the lab- surprising results really.

Anyway, ph of regular tap water can fall anywhere between 7.0 and 7.8, depending on what's in your water.

Pool water (chlorinated) falls between 7.0 and 7.8 as well... although don't drink it, there is too many chemicals (and although it is completely sanitary... ick.)

Hope that helps.

Varies depending on the impurities. Pure water is neutral, neither acid not alcaline.
