Unfortuneately, it will only be a percentage of what the judge hands down. It depends on the state in which you were picked up. Each state has their own laws, it won't go according to the state you reside, unless thats the state you were picked up in. Hopefully, whoever got this dui, will learn from their mistake, and not take a chance on hurting anyone else. What someone does to themselves, their business, when they get in a car, after drinking, it becomes public business. I know, you didn't ask for this much input, but like child molesters, I have absolutely no tolerance for irresponsible people who drink and drive, not in todays world.

I know someone who was convicted of rape and sentenced to 10 years in Texas. He was out in 6 months on good behavior. I can't believe they let him out so quickly. He is still on parole.
So my guess is that if you are well behaved, you could probably be out in 6 months as well. But I'm certainly no expert, and glad for that.

depends on your behavior on the inside. if your behavior is good, you will parole quickly. if your behavior is bad (you break the rules in prison) then you are more likely to serve close to if not all of your sentence. the original charge isn't taken into consideration for parole or custody level, it is all about your behavior on the inside.
