If you skip over the qualified for the less qualified it is unfair to all of us as a society. How is it treating people equally when you don't reat them equally???? You look at the sex, nationality origin, physical characteristics or skin color and say... YES I PICK YOU because you're white, a woman and have a limp...
NO way in any stretch of the imagination are you then treating people EQUALLY!

No it only proves to further spread inequality amongst races.
One race will always believe that just because they are a different skin color or ethnicity they deserve compensation to make up for being born that way. We were all created in equal and should be treated as such.
Affirmative action then creates unrest and resentment amongst the people who were passed over for jobs because there was a quota to be filled set by affirmative action.

It is never the best action to pass over a more qualified person to give a job to a less qualified person.
My mother told me when I was a baby that life isn't fair, and I never use that word in talking about world anymore.

No, because it favors one group of people over another instead of letting a person, no matter what color, achieve something on his/her own. That is not fair to choose a side, minority or not.

no, it is reverse discrimination. it sets people up for failure. they make places for certain people, for instance, in colleges. this only sets them up for failure because they cannot complete the coursework successfully so they drop out. yeah, they had a shot, but they did not have the qualifications on a legitimate level to compete or finish. its dumb. race should not get you ahead in life.
