it takes a lot of courage to come out and be open about your sexuality.....
on this list we see everyday hero's...those who speak out..and refuse to be silenced by the "moral majority"...
If you could do or say one heroic thing today to stop the bigotry/homophobia...what would it be?

Giving this a little thought I would say:

" ... I am a person, born with two arms, two hands and have ten fingers. I also have two legs, two feet and they too have ten toes. I've got a brain, a heart and of course a mind - We are no different than each other. The only thing that differs who we have in our beds - but honestly now - I'm not worried about who you sleep with - so tell me - why are you so worried who I sleep with? Perhaps if you stopped worrying about my bed-mate you will soon learn, as it is none of my business who's in your bed, it really is none of yours as to who's in mine! ... "

Yep, that's exactly what I tell these people.

Thanks for the question.

I already did this. I told a guy I'm seeing good morning as we woke up in the same bed. Most heroic thing is to live life and love it. Not allow others to spoil it. Tonight we will hold hands, have dinner and do all the stuff we want to do.

No if reality was not in place it would be to take President Bush into the press room, then kiss this man I love in front of him.

We need to be a country that stops offering a fallacies in its own policies. For example: Saying that this a country with freedom of choice, but still stigmatizing people based on religious dogmas.

I think the biggest thing anyone can do is just to live their life. Campaigning and becoming an activist is a good thing, but if everyone is too busy campaigning to live their life then all that effort is going to waste.

You know my take on this. Honestly you have to tell conservatives (like me, I guess) that they can believe what ever they want. But a true conservative supports individual rights and limited government interference in peoples lives. When talking to people that sincerely support sodomy laws don't try to convince them it's ok to be gay. Ask them if they really want the government dictating how people live their lives.

Stand up and be counted!! Challenge all forms of oppression and bigotry as a matter of course. Do not ignore, fight. It will not go away and neither will we!!

that we are a people who as a majority do not hate or single out any one group and tell them how to live their lives.
if you feel the need to speak out about wrong....

why didn't you speak out about Hitler and his mass murders
why didn't you speak out about the raping of children in your churches.
why didn't you speak out when a man is being beaten on the street.
why didn't you speak out about the starving that exist through out the world.

these are things that need to be addressed. not something that is consensual between people. there is no wrong doing hear. if you feel you need to save me don't, save the people who are in need.

I'd have to agree with the last one. End adherence to mythological religions and the whole problem with sexuality evaporates.

Do not judge someone for their sexuality because everyone has a few "skeletons" in their closet.
