Can anyone tell me the career batting average for Ty Cobb vs Babe Ruth. I am sure they must have faced each other as Ruth pitched from 1914-1919 for Boston and Cobb was playing in Detroit.

Richard Bak's book, Ty Cobb, 1994, pp. 54, where Ty Cobb's stats against the AL pitchers are listed, it lists Cobb as getting 22 x 67 = .328, against Babe.

They certainly were Great players.Think of the equipment they had .They drank and ate what they pleased, traveled by bus or train. without AC.Double headers every weekend. They still hold recorders to this modern day and only the steroid boys are able to match them.Let's put a * by those druggies names if they should surpass those old boys.
