These questions are under the topic trig using sohcahtoa lol.

1) A boy is flying a kite at a height of 35m. If the string is taut and unwound to a length of 50m, calculate the angle, correct to the nearest degree, that the string makes with the horizontal.

Thanks i dont no how to work it out so the working out would be great if you could show that aswell xxx

Draw a right angled triangle. the vertical is 35m and the sloped line, the hypotenuse, is 50m. We have to find the angle between the string and the ground.

35 is the opposite, 50 is the hyp, so it is a sine problem. Sin x = opp/hyp = 35/50.

using the inverse sine function on the calculator, we find that the angle is 44.4 degrees

hope this helps

A boy is flying a kite at a height of 35m. If the string is taut and unwound to a length of 50m, calculate the angle, correct to the nearest degree, that the string makes with the horizontal.
the hypotenuse is 50m
the side opposite is 35m
sin(x)=35/50=.7
x=arcsin(.7)=44 degrees

I presume this is trigonometry?
so the question

so the hypotenuse of the triangle is 50m, with the height 35.
This makes the 35m opposite from the angle.
opposite = 35, Hypotenuse=50.
Using SOH CAH TOA.

Means that
Sin x = 35/50
[35/50= 0·7]
Sin x = 0·7
[shift sin 0·7 = 44·427]
x= 44·427 which is 44 to the nearest degree

you should get each and all of the x's on one side and each and all of the numbers with out x's on the different side So 8x - 7 = x + 15 will develop into 8x - x = 7 + 15 then you definitely rather ought to artwork out the two sides so thus you get 7x = 22 so x = 22/7 it incredibly is 3.14 (word that this has been rounded as much as two decimal places) the subsequent question is the comparable element yet ill do in basic terms it rapidly for you so which you get the respond 6x + 4 = 3x + 20 6x - 3x = -4 + 20 3x = sixteen x = 5.3 (it is to a million decimal place) finally once you progression the numbers and x's you apart from could ought to alter no remember if its a plus or a minus selection. So -6 might develop into +6 on the different side was hoping I helped you out

assume ground is level-the kite is
at avertical height of 35m

let x = angle from horizontal

sinx= height/unwound length
35/50=0.7

x = arcsin 0.7= 44.43 degrees

therefore,the string makes an angle of
44.43 degrees with the horizontal

i hope that this helps

I hope he is not flying his kite in a thunder storm because he might get electricuted or worse still done off his mum for playing out in the rain.

i can't really remember but what i do remember is that you have to find the angle and u have 2 sides so its sumfin like the cosine rule. plot everything into a triangle 1st. wrk out which 1 is sin, cos an tan den ye shud be fine.lol. sounds complicated but havnt done maths in almost a year. gud luck;) x

If you don't know how to work it out why don't you ask your teacher?
