Oscars and parrots aren't African cichlids. Here's a link with African cichlids, can also do a search for other cichlids like South Americans. A 300 litre tank(79 US gal) you won't be able to put that many "regular" cichlids in there. I'd stick with the Africans, and stick with 1 region, like either strictly Malawi or Tanganyikan (that's the lakes the come from). With Africans, you can kinda overstock the tank (make sure you have good filtration) because it helps to cut down on their aggression because they're so territorial. Just want to make sure there's lots of rocks and caves for them.

The older African Cichild the more aggrieves they get they are also a part of the Oscar family and they will eat each other too. You should get the Cichlids when they are young and let them grow up together. Never at any point add more after you have bought them and get the ugly ones because as they mature they change colors. They are like the ugly duck that turn into a beautiful swan. A lady who owns a pet store told me this and I bought a brow Cichild and it turn black and then pearl blue. Also NEVER mix South American Cichilds with African Cihlids

The Manfreds. The song was even called 5-4-3-2-1, which I think was very nice of them.
