You said this was an easy question,
LIAR, lol:)
My computer mispalces files too, the best advise is poke around till you find it.
I hope someone who is more computer literate helps you. Sorry, technology doesn't like me.

Well if it's a trick question you could save them in a different desktop folder, but if not then go to my computer > tools ? folder options > view > show hidden files and folders, then apply, see if you can see them then, if not right click on the desktop and click arrange icons by > show desktop icons, if not you can find them by going here(i have xp yours might be a bit different)... C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Desktop where *username* is your windows username, click the start button and at the top your username will be shown.

Easiest way to find stuff on your PC is to use the "Search" function and the "wildcard" symbol. Since most images are of the Joint Picture Group (.jpg) format and some are as Bit Mapped Protocol (.bmp) you enter the search term *.jpg or *.bmp The asterisk is the "wildcard" term, meaning ANY file that ends with .jpg or .bmp will be located on your PC in the search results window. This also work for other filetypes. just use the wildcard ( * ) and the file extension type, (i.e. .jpg, .mp3, .doc, etc)

Um, if you are positive you saved it, you might want to check where you saved it to, when you save a picture it will give you the option of where to save it. That or it may be a different format, some websites do that, for example .jpeg or .img.
