Muscles can be classified by twitch speed, fatigue resistance and histology...

So, you have:

Fast, Fatiguing (FF) - Type 2b
Fast, Fatigue resistance (FR) - Type 2a
Slow, Fatigue resistant (SA) - Type I

and/or

Skeletal (Those that promote movement and insert on skeleton)
Smooth (Like those used in ventilation or vascular/intenstinal movement)
Cardiac (Heart)
