The UN's Millennium Development goals aims at alleviating world poverty & to promote effective development. Major aid and debt relief commitments were made by the UN's 191 state members... But where are the results?? If current trends continue it will be difficult to achieve these goals within the given timeline (by 2015). So...back to the question...why do you think these goals have not been realised?

lack of will amongst the richest countries who use "corruption" as an excuse, though it is western corporations who are corrupting leaders abroad.

the biggest economy (US) only gives 0.13% of GDP as aid, despite all developed countries agreeing to give 0.7% (some european countries are on target, but not uk, france, germany or italy).

The UN is as worthless as t!ts on a boar. I am surprised they can even open the doors. Close them down and turn the buildings into a homeless shelter.
