He is the current prime minister of Great Britain. His party is the Labour Party, which is basically equivalent to the American Democratic Party, asserting the rights and opportunities of less wealthy classes of British citizens. Blair announced earlier this year that he was going to resign from his position early next year. Most believe that he will keep his word. I do.
By the way, Tony Blair is quite intelligent and informed. This has been obscured very much by the fact that he has joined forces with the United States very tightly in the war against terrorism and also the fight against Saddam Hussein, and subsequently against a protracted insurgency. Blair, unlike his American counterpart, is very well-read and quite intelligent.

Tony Blair is a Neo-con, Catholic zealot, who somehow became leader of the Labour Party in the UK. The Labour Party was founded to represent the ordinary working man on the street, funded by the Trade Union movement, unlike the Conservatives and Liberals who were backed by wealthy individuals. Somehow this elitist educated, husband of a wife who earns over £500,000 p/a lawyer/judge, Thatcherite became leader of the left wing party and transformed it into an extremist right wing party known as 'New Labour', with policies that favour nuclear power & weaponry, business involvement in the public sector, and peerages for wealthy businessmen who 'loan' money to the party for him to spend, without the party tresurer even knowing the money had been lent? Alol these principles would make the founders of the party spin in their coffins. Labour is now like the Republicans, the Conservatives are trying to be seen as more moderate, and are akin to your Democrats, whilst in the UK we also have a party called the Liberal Democrats, who are middle-of-the-road. As a consequence, the British electorate no longer has a political party representing the working class, which being the largest class in the system, explains the appalling turn out at the last election.
Mr Blair is the Prime Minister with the least percentage of votes since we allowed women and me aged 21-30 to vote? He is also the least popular PM for over 150 years, and he rules like a dictator supported by corrupt Neo-cons like David Blunkett, John Reid, John Prescott, and who side steps debate in our Houses of Parliament, by taking actions without any debate or vote. His legacy will be that he caused the death of nearly a million innocent foreign citizens, and he and his wife are expected to flee to the US to live in the next couple of years, as it would be unsafe for him to remain in the UK.
