I didn't read through all the answers, so there may be some repeats...of course, all I can do is give you some songs that jolt my happy bone. Here goes:
The "Spongebob SquarePants" Theme
Shout by the Isley Brothers
Yakety Sax--Boots Randolph (I think that's because it
was the music used on the Benny Hill Show)
Gimme Dat Ding--The Pipkins
Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavor on the Bedpost Overnight--Lonnie Donegan and His Skiffle Band
Holly Jolly Christman--Burl Ives
Louie Louie--Kingsmen
Brand New Key--Melanie
Blue Moon--Marcels
Spam--Monty Python (bloody Vikings!)
Mr. Bass Man--Johnny Cymbal
And just to make it a "baker's dozen," I will leave you with the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" song from the Ren and Stimpy cartoon show.
I could go on for hours like this, but as I speak, they're coming to take me away. Hey!! That's another one...Napoleon XIV "They're Coming to Take Me Away Ha-Ha."
Hope I could help...good luck with the project. If you find out what makes people happy, get it on the Web and pipe it all around the world--Lord knows we need it.

For some reason, the song "Never Gonna Stop" by Rob Zombie always makes me feel better when I'm sad. It's sort of upbeat and positive without being too obnoxious or manic like some happy songs are.

Hello:
I'm a child of the 60's. My favorite song from the time is The Cowsills - The Rain The Park And Other Things.
Here are the words as best as I can remember them.
I saw her sitting in the rain, raindrops falling on her. She didn't seem to care. She sat there and smiled at me. And I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew) she could make me happy (happy, happy). Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere. I love the flower girl, oh, I don't know just why. She simply caught my eye. I love the flower girl, she seemed so sweet and kind. She crept into my mind. Suddenly the sun broke through (see the sun).I turned around she was gone (where did she go). And all I had left was one little flower from her hair. But I knew (I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew) she had made me happy (happy, happy). Flowers in her hair, flowers everywhere.
Its visual (the sun and the flowers) and I always think of flowers and the fresh smell after a rain shower.
Good luck.

Songs that make me happy every time i hear them are The Foundations - Build me up Buttercup and Queen Don't Stop Me Now.
It's impossible to be sad when either of those songs are on!
Good luck with the project!

Take That.
Could It Be Magic?
Make me shiver inside
It's a happy shiver.
Let me know if you want more ideas. I'm contactable.
I agree with Keri too. Mr Blue Sky does the same thing.

'Smile' - Music written by Charlie Chaplin
Lyrics by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons
Smile though your heart is aching,
Smile even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by,
If you smile
through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness,
Although a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time,
You must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worth-while,
If you just smile.

The Ghostbusters theme. Don't laugh - well do laugh actually. Whenever it comes on the radio almost everybody in the room starts to bob up and down, it's hilarious (the reaction not the song. It's funny but not that funny)!

My personal feel good song is "Just another day in paradise" by Phil Vasser .
also "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang.
To cheer up a friend I think I would have them listen to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts.
Good Luck on your project!
