How do I fix, without going to a shop, since it's an automatic window? Even if I can just put the window back on the rail for now. Can anyone help?

It may have slipped off the regulator or the regulator is broken. Unless you are experienced, take it to a shop.

TIP: for the best price, go to a shop that sells and installs glass rather then a mechanic or dealer. Thats all they work on and they can sometimes FIX what the dealer or shop wants to REPLACE.

If the motor works the drive link is broken or slipped off track. Pull the door panel and take a look. If it loos too complicated to you, take to a glass shop or a body shop as they work on this stuff all the time. Check around for your best price. If you do not want to use or have the $ to fix, you could pull the panel and push up manually then prop up with a stick, cut to the right length.
