Sex Partners?

Question

My 18 year old little sister just admitted to me that she had slept with 7 men.. I know that she is being safe about it but that number seems a little high.. I know that the girls these days are sleeping around more and starting much early, but is 7 bad?? and if you are a teenager what is your number or even what it was when you were 18.. i know that is a very personal question but i really want to help her and i know that she will just say that everyone else is doing it!! At age 18 my number grew to 4. I had to learn to be more selective about who I sleep with because people are crazy nowadays... You never know what could happen. I do hope she is actually being safe but remind her "accidents" DO happen to the best of us!

That number seems a little high but there really isn't anything that you can do. At 18 the number is far from some of the people I know. My sister in law is only 21 and has slept with 18 people! That really seems high to me.

im on my bf's name, but that is a lot of guys to have slept with for being 18 years old. Im 20 and a college student whos been dating the same guy for well over 2 years and we go to school together and we have never had sex with anyone, however I do have friends who have been rather active since high school, and while your sister may say everyone else is doing it, many probably are doing it with a much lesser number that aren't, its horrible i know, but the media is using sex and sexiness to advertise everything, and if she's not strong enough to do her own thing its an easy trap to fall into. I dont see anything wrong with an adult sleeping with her boyfriend, but your sister seems to be pushing her limits with luck as far as not getting hurt, pregnant or a disease. Try to hang out with her more to set a good example, but dont punish her for what shes done, its not worth it to either of you.

To me 7 is high for only to be 18. God knows most of the men I was with back then, I regret, lol! A lot of teens like the attention & they are easy prey. I mean obviously she's an adult & you can't make decisions for her. I would just try to talk to her about why she's doing it. Inquire deeper, but try not to pressure her. Have girl talk, yanno? She may be acting out feelings of inadequacy or have issues with her self esteem. Really all you can do is be there for her an express how absolutley crucial it is that she's practicing safe sex.

I am much older and I still haven`t slept with 7 different men, and most of my friends haven`t either. I think the young think of it as a recreational activity the way we used to think of going to the movies was. The waiting for the right guy days are over sad to say as there is a decline in morality, and abortion is at an all time high, leaving the birth control to chance. We are becoming more 3rd world country because of it. The person who answered before me saying leave her alone she is having fun is the way they think and feel about this subject.

I've got to be honest your sister seems a little loose. I'm 18 and I've been with one man. Most of my friends are virgins and the ones who aren't at 18 had only slept with 2 or 3 at the most.

Seven is probably on the high side for eighteen, especially if she's into a party lifestyle and is having hookups while in a drunk or otherwise altered state.

A lot of girls do go through a brief slutty phase around that age, where they realize the power that their sexuality gives them over men. She might get over it as she gets older and settles down, and a big sister to give her good advice might help her do that.

My number at 18 was 3, but now i'm 26 and much, much higher. She has probably slept with older guys for the most part. When i was 21 it seemed like every girl i met was 18. now i'm 26, and it seems like every girl i meet is 20. I don't think 7 is that bad. You shoul dexperience the world, and it will make for a beter sexual partner when she gets married. Everyone knows that the people who save themselves get divorced becuase of curiosity, she won't wonder as likely now.

I wish I could be encouraging or discouraging. I can do neither. What I can say is some ppl have a higher sex drive than others. I have been with my share of women, along with a lot of other guys shares too. So I cannot judge. Just let her know that Human Papalova Virus gets you whether or not there is a condom in between.
