Buttons open same with zipper. But it won't make much difference. I have tried this. It does almost nothing.

No cuz the dye that comes off the jacket won't have a "fixer" to make it stay on the jeans. If you will turn your jacket and jeans inside-out, buttoned and zipped before washing they will fade less in the future.

No, good try but always wash your denim with denim anyway it has never worked for me.... But white socks will turn blue! Only wash socks with socks and underware with underware maybe jeans and shrits as well NEVER mix socks and underware not clean or healthy! Towels with towels only... Unless you are single and need to come up with a full load that is when exceptions are made.

It all depends on you, if have a nice shirt you may take changes of ripping the bottons or material if they are left bottoned... but I leave mine bottoned and have not had that happened, on jeans zipper up or down I leave mine down and unbottoned I am not taking the time to be that careful when I do laundry, some people would though it probably helps the zipper to last longer but usually mine are faded and holy before the zipper goes out...

Happy laundring!

It is really hard to get the colour even unless you actually soak it in a completely full tub and then take the jacket out before you spin it. If you just wash it together you will get splotchy bits all over your jeans and they will look kind of tie dye.

Thats a good idea. They used to sell a special dye for faded blue jeans for people who like the "new blue" look.

hard to say, try using warm water, this might pull some color out of the jacket. be careful because the dye might not cover the pants entirely. you are better off trying to re-dye the jeans separately

No. get a nice new blue towel and try that. Cheaper towels tend to lose their color in the wash to all the lighter stuff. I did this once and changed the color of one of my white socks. Not a good thing unless it was intentional. LOL

It depends if the jacket color will come off. You will be better to buy some blue die at Walmart and die the jeans. When you die it keep the zipper closed.

You might get some color alright, but not where your wanting it. It may fade all over and uneven. I would wash it by itself. Good luck!

I agree w/Gypsy. They used to make a Rit dye color called blue denim. Wash them in that dye.
