For the last three years I have been looking for "decent" employment. Decent = at least $12.00/hour.

I've paid to have my resume critiqued and was told that it was a very good resume. In three years of applying for two and more jobs a week, I've been called in for 4 interviews - all said my resume was impressive - but apparently I wasn't.

Three years ago I moved to the Fort Worth, Texas area and began my futile job search. I took what I thought would be a temporary job with WalMart, which does not pay enough to cover the bills I took on when I moved here. (complicated family stuff)

When I moved here I had no bills, a nice little savings, and good credit. Now my bills are out of sight, my savings is gone, and my credit is ruined. I'm trying to hang on to my home (which houses my disabled family - three of them - and a new husband whose business just went belly up - and a stepson).

I need $12.00/hour to provide for my family. I'm seeking a real job - not some mlm scam

In your situation, my best advice is to start contacting employment (temp) services like Adecco and Express Personnel. They may start you off with doing simple assignments, but if your resume is that impressive and you do those 1-2 day assignments well, they'll start giving you bigger stuff. It's also possible they will match you with a temp-to-hire position where you'd work temp for 90 days and then the company has an option to hire you direct.

Good luck, I know it's tough.

Hello, sorry to hear your in a bad situation.
My sister had the same experience, and what she did was grab a phone book and start calling businesses that were of her interest.
She also went to the city and checked if there were openings.
Finally, there was an opening at the court, applied and got an interview. After a week she called to check what was the status. She called and called until she got hired.

Check the courts, the city, construction companies, they're usually pay good.
Don't wait until a job is posted, just turn in your resumes and if you can talk to the owner or manager then that's even better.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Have you ever thought about waiting tables? You have daily income and if you can get in a place like Outback Steak House or something similar you can make some great money. My neice was working at Outback just on the weekend and bringing home between 200-300 for 2 nights work. Just an idea.
