Stalin was pretty bad. He was as bloodthirsty as he was stupid. Combine that with absolute power and you have a recipe for the some of the worst atrocities the world has ever seen and on a scale which boggles the mind.

Julius Caesar had approximately 65% of population of Gaul (France) killed. If you take population numbers into account this meant a horrifying genocide. Only J. Caesar was left to tell his tale. Next on the list would be Mao. He caused far more deaths than Stalin. In numbers. Then Pol Pot. In proportion to the total population of Cambodia he killed far more people than Stalin or Hitler. Many on your list were surely brutal dictators but didn't commit mass murder in an organized way.

Hmmm I hear Pol Pot may have killed more people than Stalin. I suspect George W. will be on the list of most heinous leaders in no time. They're all repulsive. Another one that probably could be added: Pinochet. Vlad Tepes and Attila the Hun weren't all that nice, either. Caligula as well.

Stalin by far. I study history in university and am more than positive that Stalin killed more people than most of the rest of your list combined.
