It is possible.. Im a guy, but have been riding for 12 years, and have ridden with many girls. Find a local place that gives riding lessons - we have one hear at a community college, you get to use their bikes, and the instructors are motorcycle cops. Once you complete the course, they give you a motorcycle endorsement for your drivers license....
the biggest problem for most girls when it comes to riding motorcycles is height. You won't be able to reach on most crotch rockets..without having them lowered you are short..

I started riding when I was 12, had a buddy who taught me how to ride (you will need that). Started out with an 80, then to a Honda XL 250 and now I have an XL 500. Something around 200cc size might be good starter, check out the bike shops but take someone knowledgible (SP?) And remember, every GOOD rider has a wipe out or two. My bikes were on / off road, not sure of your locale, but I'd suggest that. Stay away from power bands until you are experienced - be safe and have fun!!
