I don't know why it's making your computer freeze up, but I do know how to remove it and revert back to your previous version. Click Start > Control Panel > add or Remove Programs > scroll down and find Internet Explorer 7 and click on it to highlight it and give you the remove option and click Remove. It will automatically revert back to your previous version of Internet Explorer.

To uninstall IE7, go in to the Control Panel
Click on the Add or Remove Programs icon
Scroll down and look for IE7
Click on it once and a Remove button will appear
Once IE7 is removed, your computer will return to IE 6
