boy i'm going to sound like a jerk here, but i've been cramped on a plan with a woman who had to put up the arm and spill over into my seat. she took up all of her seat and half of mine. i was incredibily uncomfortable. and while i agree some people can't help being fat, if you need two seats, you should buy two seats just like you can buy two lunches.

Do you think that thin people should pay more for clothing because they do not have pretty clothing for heavy people?
If this question is silly, how do you think your question sounds? I am a thin person but to be perfectly honest, if you are also a thin person I would rather be a heavy person should I have to choose. You are the perfect example of a person that is self absorbed closed minded and eager to initialize a sameness in a world that is beautifully diversified. If heaviness is an issue to you it seems that shaming a person into anything has never been a solid assistance towards change in any form. If you wish to help those around you who you feel may have a weight problem the first step should be friendship! This kindness, is the first step to up lifting a persons self esteem and thoughts of a longer life. Your ugliness can only push a person to remain as they are just to spite you!
Oh and in case your wondering, I have, in my profession, seen more thin people with a host of health problems stunting their life span. In return I have seen heavier people whos lifes are healthier and happier in their larger bodies.
If you want my own personal straight forward answer to your question, this is my response:
Whatever!!

This question has been asked about a thousand times already and now we have it again, how crass and how ignorant you are, I suppose you think your normal, such a shame that no one has ever told you how abnormal your mind is, why don't you get a life and pick somewhere else to be ignorant, for the record some obese people are so because of medication they are taking for cancer or other serious illnesses, just remember that next time you want to be so narrow minded and insult people.

overweight people dont actually buy a seat on a train or plane...they pay to get from ' a ' to ' b ' fair enough, you cant stand all the way on a plane but thats not the issue here........so why should they pay double, why are only overweight people ridiculed and anorexics are given all the medical help.....same thing really, both have a problem controlling their weight....maybe you should think twice before airing your opinions, but then you are ' normal ' and this is what the dictionary says ' normal ' is;
Usual; typical; not extraordinary.
Thesaurus: usual, ordinary, conventional, typical, accustomed, average, common, habitual, mainstream, regular, routine, standard, run-of-the-mill, par for the course; Antonym: irregular, odd, peculiar.
there is no ' normal ' human !

Speaking as an obese person, who's to say what is "normal". Now, I was raised with manners and if I saw a lady or two standing while I sat while riding in a bus or some other conveyance,then I would stand and offer my seat. Don't judge a book by it's cover. You might be surprised by what's inside.

No! What a rude comment! You don't know their reason for being obese, it could be a number of things--and they are people just like you. They have feelings too. How insensitive! Didn't anyone ever tell you it's what's on the inside that counts. Besides, I know plenty of slim people who are not normal. Stop being so shallow.

How crass and egotistical can a person be; I get the impression you judge people on appearance only.
On one point I would agree however, on aircraft , trains etc if you take up two seats you should pay for two seats and not enforce someone to sit under their overflow, because they can't fit into one seat.

first and foremost.obese ppl are normal ppl.just because they're larger than normal does not make them abnormal.and i agree that they should buy tickets for 2 seats when they're on public transport so that they can avoid causing discomfort to other passenger.you should not discriminate ppl for being obese.they have every right as you to live.

Does anyone agree that intelligent people should shove ignorant asses of a cliff? For example when they ask stupid questions?
