It is plain to me where liberals stand, they don't care that our troops are putting their life on the line. They do it because they care about their country, not because they were drafted.

As a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom 1, I must say that I was quite offended by Senator Kerry's comments which prove once and for all that in 2004 America was screwed either way. His comment reeks of eliteism and from what I heard from the sound bite, his audience did not get the joke either.

On the other hand making mistakes and promoting eliteism as capitalism is something the Republican party does quite well. So all Kerry did was reaffrim why I have never been a Democrat. Then everytime I lay eyes on GWB I am reminded why I left the republican party.

So instead of thinking along party lines and waiting for an opinion to be given to you why not go out get your own information and take an interest other then mudslinging in your nation's future.

this is more for Butch

I have two degrees. How many do you have?

here is a bit more info for you:

According to figures readily available on the Internet, 99.9 percent of the enlisted forces have at least a high school education, 73.3 percent have some college, 16.2 percent have an associate’s degree or equivalent semester hours, and 4.7 have a bachelor’s degree.

What’s more, over 85 percent of field grade officers have advanced degrees – 70.7 percent have master’s degrees, 12.1 percent have professional degrees and 2.5 percent have doctorate degrees.

hmmm...that's funny...seems like we are actuall educated AND we defend a nation. Fact is that I am 100 times more likely to leave the military and get a job we both apply for if I have my degrees. If I didn't, I am still 10 times more likely to get the job based on my military background.

Minorities are the majority of the military? You are obviously spouting trash unknowingly because 64% of the military is white.

Go back and do some research before looking like an idiot.

No, he was just saying the truth no one wants to hear.
Think about it! Just stop for a minute and think.
When guys with money graduate they go to college and have fun get drunk and get laid.
Men in foster homes are out at 17 or 18 and the military is a way to go. They come from ghetto, poor communities, minorities make up the major part of the military. Most come from poor family's and just want help to get an education. If you would for once be honest. Everyone knows that's true.

No. I'm upset that so many Americans care more about this little media/Republican frenzy than they do about real issues. I'm upset that there are so many people aout there so clueless that they're paying more attention to this incident than they are to what's going down in Iraq. I'm upset that so many people have so little integrity or common sense that they let their leaders lie outright to them and never hold them accountable. I'm upset that the courage and determination of men like Kerry, who have served in wartime, and have served the public their entire lives, can be so easily dismissed by people sitting behind a computer. Or a podium. Or a desk in the Oval Office.

I'm upset that he wasn't clearer about his meaning. I had to go back and look at it again to be sure he was talking about Bush and co. (he was). But I am disgusted by those who are too lazy to do so and actually WANT to believe he was talking about the military because they just don't like him to begin with. Disgusted, but not surprised.

I don't think they are upset with Kerry. He only spoke what the liberals believe. And LIBS.... you can try to lie out of it, but facts are the facts.. Typical libs... the facts are in front of them, and they still refuse to see....

I'm not. All I heard him say is that Iraq is screwed up. I agree with him. I think Bush is betraying our troops by vilifying anyone that suggests Iraq isn't going well.
