after healing time can it be useful for exercising, retaining strength and flexibility because tissue is constantly being rebuilt?

it should take 3 months to heal and light weight can be lifted, but to be on the safe side give it 6 months for the heavy stuff. it should be fine as we exercise our muscles, tissues are being rebuilt as you have mentioned and should get more flexible.. if you don't use it, you lose it.

Weight bearing exercises such as walking on treadmill and strength training is recommended. Just be careful not to over do it with heavy weights too soon. There is also a risk of rupturing the tendon again if you are not careful. Stay in close contact with your MD also for advice. Good luck and don't over do it.
