I would have to say neither if the gift were for me.
I would say avoid the designer purse since its an expensive fad and will be out in another month. A camcorder is not overly practical depending on the life style of the person.
For my 21st, I would rather want bar stuff like shakers and fancy glasses so I could have parties. My personal favorite is always something in neutral form: cash, gift cards, nothing.

No doubt definately a video camcorder, which is way better than a purse. A purse will eventually rip and tear where a camera will not rip or tear, as long as a person is careful with the camera.

The camcorder, totally.
The purse will be out of style within a year, and you may have multiple purses for use with different outfits/occassions. But the camcorder you can use to preserve memories, blackmail your friends at humorously embarassing moments, express your artistic creativity.

i m gonna be 21 and i would luv a designer purse. but it depends on the individual actually. if she loves fashion then designer purse. or else the video camcorder. but both of them r really great gift idea.

For Me, I'd go for the Video Camcorder but Any other girls who luv fashion would luv a designer purse.

For me....neither....I'd say jewellery.
But to answer your question....it really depends on wht kind of person this girl is....if she's into gadgets n stuff, she'd appreciate the camcorder. If not, purse is probably safer.

A camcorder because guaranteed there will be something to capture on film for your 21st birthday onwards.

Video Camera. You have more use and more fun using a camera then you would a designer purse. Thats just my opinion though.
