Any animal will bite if scared or angry. They don't do it vindictively, they are just protecting themselves like they would in the wild.

Oh, that's sent a right shiver down my back, I hate mice and rats, wild or tame, but yes wild ones will bite when scared so don't corner them and get the rat catcher in to get rid of them for you.

Wild rats and mice would run away from people. If they are cornered, then yes, rats have been known to be vicious to protect themselves.

Any animal will bite or scratch if it feels threatened or has young to protect that it feels are in danger, it's a natural instinct, but the majority will escape before attacking if they can as we are a little bigger than them and tend to be a little more scary.

Yes they do! If cornered or held, they exhibit all the natural reactions of most living creatures. I have been "bitten" by a Shrew and a Mole - some of Britain's smallest animals !

a self protection thing it thinks you are the preadator and if it bites you normally it has enough time to get away.
