I got an 18+ student oyster card last year ... do I need to re-apply this year to continue getting the discount?

To get a London travelcard it will be loaded on an Oyster Card you can't buy paper ones any more. You go to a place that sells travelcards and ask for a monthly travelcard for Zones 1 & 2. Not sure how much it is. The advantage is that you can also store some money and if you want to travel outside Zones 1 & 2 then you will not be charged a penalty fair unless you don't touch in or out. A Young Person's Railcard does not give you a discount on London Underground only on National Rail lines, but if you have a travelcard you can travel on National Rail lines within those zones.

yes you need to ,every year and in the meantime you will have to pay the full fare!

you are a bit late you oyster card finished on the 30/09.you gonna have to wait a while before u get the new one.
