On the Dodge, follow the fuel lines towards the injectors until you see something that looks like a tire stem, it will probably have a protective cap screwed onto it. Remove the cap and press the valve. Air will probably come out. Get a friend to crank over the engine while you hold the valve down until you get a solid stream of diesel. Clean up any spills, put the cap back on, and start as usual.

If by chance you have the fuel water separator with the petcock, open and drain the water out before you start.

On some vechicles there is a bleed valve or button on the filter. Otherwise the only way i know is to take the injector the farthest away from the engine driven pump, and crack it open. Turn the engine over until fuel comes out. Get help with this and be safe.
Have a fun day.

I had this same problem 2 days ago. If the car's in working order but has run out of fuel, then all you really need to do is keep cranking it until the fuel gets back into the line. try starting it for 3 seconds and then waiting a minute before trying it again until it starts.

it might have a pump primer, if so prime it good, start it, the air will work its way out. but if you have a small hole somewhere, the air will find its way back in.
