Just had oil changed and air filter changed. I was just driving when I thought I smelled smoke. I then noticed a big trail of smoke was coming from my tailpipe. Not sure of the color but it smelled like burning oil. Taking into garage. I turned off the car and it seemed to be fine after a few minutes I drove another ten miles to work without another incident.

They could have overfilled the oil, or it could be that they didn't get enough oil in. I would make sure and check the oil ASAP. Also they could have got oil onto the engine or the exhaust pipe which can lead to a burning smell and also smoke.

Spark plugs or a valve? Where do these morons come from?
They probably just spilled some oil. Keep a close eye on the oil level for a while. If the drain plug and filter are tight you're probably OK.

I'd say a small amount of oil fell on your tailpipe during the oil draining. And what you may have been seeing was the oil burning from the heat off the tailpipe since it stopped when you got to work. It's all burned off.

it's possible that the person who did the oil change spilled a little and it ended up getting burned off on the exhaust manifold.

Check your oil level today and in a few days. As long as the oil level is fine I wouldn't worry too much about it.

whilst a sparkling guy started out interior the workshop,if he tended to be a boasting massive head it replaced into everyday for the different adult adult males to attempt him out ot see if he panicked,it replaced right into a time-honored to get a hand packed with heavy intense melting element grease, roll it right into a sausage and drop it down into the exhaust pipe, whilst it were working for a couple of minutes it particularly smokes badly and the guy galloped to the rest room.

That could have been from spilled oil. It shouldn't happen but it does.

Fire. Fire makes smoke come out of your car.
Or maybe it was the dead prostitute I put in there yesterday.
