Is it legal to go door2door handing out brochures or pieces of literature?

Or do you need some sort of permit?

No its not illegal.
Its free information.
They're not selling you anything, if they were, then that might require a permit of some sort.

But you don't have to accept the literature, OR answer the door.
Your choice.

Why would it be illegal? They are not forcing any thing on you. Some towns my block this but I have never heard of any.

Yes legal, as long as it is not inflammatory etc.(UK)
