The darkest part of the night is just before sunrise? The moonlight is still about in the darkness of the night, but there is no light at all in the depth of the ocean.

Depth of the ocean. Definitely, unless you include the darkenss of space with the darkness of night, then that would be the deeper.

The depths of the ocean- LET me tell you why;
Asides from being incredibly deep physically the ocean is also seemingly endless when you're deep underwater; it also gets very dark down there just as dark as the darkest night so it encompasses both a lack of light and physical depth!!You can imagine sinking forever into the deep dark ocean, but outside there's always street lights or the moon or some form of civilisation that comforts you...

the depth of the ocean. I hate going down further in the ocean cause you might find a sunken boat or some buried treasure.
