ok by saying a web query i mean getting data off a website, like top 10 artists on the charts and putting it onto exel and making it into a chart and that kind of stuff... by the way please dont use long words i am not some university or high school person

The advantage of any LIVE data is that it is dynamic. For example the Top 10 artists could change on a weekly basis. If you have them in an Excel sheet as you mentioned, then you need to periodically change the same and re-host it in your website.

On the otherhand, if you incorporate Live Feed (RSS) from that website, it will always be Latest as the update on their site is updated directly on your website.

Another example is the Latest 3 questions I have asked!! If you put the RSS from my page on your website, whenever I ask a new question, that feed with update your website!!
