Years ago I watched the film 'The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' and to this day, every time I say, or write the words of the title, I find myself singing the theme tune! (I know, I'm very sad!!!) The only bit of the film I remember was the bit where you could see the huge tomato speeding down the hill behind a bush on a skateboard (which should've been out of shot!) and bucketsfull of tomatoes being thrown over the hedge (you could even see the buckets!) in a vague effort of portraying the tomatoes attacking! It was one of the most dismal films I've ever watched. A real low budget effort, yet it's the one that comes to mind every time I hear the phrase 'Low Budget Film'.
What is your favourite 'Low Budget Film', and which scene can you remember best? Come on, admit it, we've all watched at least one from beginning to end!

May I suggest that you look up "Return of the Killer Tomatoes" and even better "the Killer Tomatoes Eat France." The guy who played Skippy on Family Ties goes to France so of course everyone thinks he's Michael J Fox. When FT (Fuzzy Tomato, the good-guy tomato!) tries to climd down the tower he is imprisoned in along with the female lead, they make a rope out of strips of her skirt; when the rope is not long enough, FT asks if they can make it longer and she responds 'Not if we want to keep this a PG movie!", so he parachutes down with her brassiere. When the girl is kidnapped, the male lead (Skippy) decides to commit suicide and sees a newspaper ad for the French Army (Join the Army! Learn Electronics, Micro-Biology, and Die Like A Man!).

You see, you are not the saddest person on Earth!

It has to be the timeless classic that is "Plan 9 From Outer Space" by Ed Wood. Which was also voted the worst film of all time, but I've got a few that come a close second.

I'm having MST3K flashbacks now!!

Cave Dwellers
Manos the Hands of Fate
Ring of Terror
Pod People * a personal favorite*
Killer Tomatoes *love that theme song!*
The Crawling Hand
The Creeping Eyeball
Zombie Nightmare

lots more

One of my fave scenes in "Tomatoes" is where this car drives into the woods, but when the car drives out again, it's a different car *no explanations or anything!* ^_^

Starring George Clooney, no less. Never seen it myself, but not ruling it out. Think mine would be Death Race 2000, which has a pre-Rocky Stallone and David Carridine with a grenade morphed into his hand. The idea being a race in wacky cars, first over the finish line wins but extra points can be made by running over pedestrians- one particular scene has hospital staff placing all their terminal patients in their beds and wheel chairs into the middle of the road...! Not the greatest ever film. Directed by the famous Roger Corman, king of the LBF

My favorite low budget is "Plan 9 From Outer Space" by Ed Wood. Its a hoot. The flying saucers are paper plates. As I recall in one scene one of the actors bumps into a prop headstone and knocks it over. Its a very funny mess of a movie.

My favourite low budget film would be "The Breakfast Club"! I absolutely love that film! My favourite part in that movie was when they all got high and were dancing around the library. Classic film.

My top three are:

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! (of course)
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (starring Sara Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt, and I think a young Shannon Doherty)
Robots (I think that's the name of it)
