be honest with your dad , tell him excatally why you dont want to go , tell him how you feel ...........pops may pull one out of his butt and suprise you .......either way it will strenghten you relationship ....... maybe he is strick so you dont make some of the same descisions he made as a kid ....he wants to protect you not control your life .......open up and talk with him ....

Wow what a bunch of LOSERS! Telling the kid not to skip or to tell the truth. It wouldn't technically be skipping if he didn't lie to his parents/school it would be an "absent" day. If you say you've never skipped: Bull. And if you haven't, you poor friendless geeks. The website, the genius of a man, above listed is actually really good. So skip young-ling and have fun. That's what high school is all about. (But do keep up on your grades, and how many days the state lets you be "absent") Good Luck!!!!!

How about you skip school and go to any major city and find some homeless people. They have great excuses for skipping school, you can learn a lot from them, like how to skip work too.
In case you havent gotten far enough in school to realize this is sarcasm.

Why is it you want to skip in the first place? Is there something going on at school that you dont want to do? Is there something going on outside of school that you want to go to?
If so, the best thing to do is tell him the honest reason you dont want to go, unless its because of a test or something. Or even then you could tell him youre not ready for the test because you forgot and you really dont want a bad grade and you are sure he doesnt want you to have one either. :o)
DONT pull the sick card. It always backfires. You could spend your whole day at the drs office instead. Or he will be there at home with you or call you every ten minutes....not worth it.

I had a major skipping habit in HS. I used to go to my friend's house before school, hotbox in the bathroom and then decide if we felt like going. Sometimes we stayed in and sometimes we showed up fried. If we showed up, we'd go smoke up again at lunch time. One time, I screwed up so big while skipping, I was too scared to face my parents for a week. Just took off couch surfing. I'm surprised I actually went back. They should have just murdered me. Incredibly, I graduated and completely cleaned up my act. Still embarrassed by the amount of skipping I did and the crap I got up to.

why would you even want to skip school in the first place? Your place is at school and getting an education. Do not skip school at all no matter what the reason is.

If you don't want an even stricter dad, I would suggest getting to school. If you have a real reason, to skip, talk it out with dad. He might surprise you.

Tell your dad, that a friend had to be sent to the hospital and you were the only witness there with your friend when the "accident" happened. When he asks for information about their parents, of how he could contact them. Tell him that your friend's parents are dead, and that he/she is fostered by a cousin that doesn't even take care of them. Also, mention that your friend really needed you to be there with them. As your dad asks to see your "friend", tell him that she/he is in ICU and they will be with the state because the accident was so bad.

Makes me wonder if you are up to no good. If you can't get your father's approval then there is no reason to miss school. If you get arrested and your dad has to bale you out, I wouldn't want to be you. GO TO SCHOOL.
