I never had cravings during my pregnancies and I have never heard of women craving anything at merely 3 weeks along.

Food cravings during pregnancy have been scientifically proven to not have anything to do with deficiencies.

You can because everyone is different. I am 12 weeks and have personally never had a craving for a particular food in the traditional sense. But I have had foods that I have been in the mood for but it wasn't intense. I know other women who immediatly starting craving foods which is how they discovered they were pregnant.

If you crave chocolate when pregnant, you might have a magnesium deficiency. If it persists through your first pre-natal checkup, ask your doctor if you should take a supplement. Magnesium is usually piggybacked with calcium as a supplement. I was ravenous for chocolate for our second daughter, told my doctor-as soon as I started the supplements, the cravings went away!
