Approve stem cell research. This will be the next great technology. If we conceed this to off-shore interests, the game is over.

I would create an opening for a President's jester to periodically deflate the ego of the head of state so that they can actually get necessary tasks done. Also, I would nominate genuine experts of their respective fields to head the various top offices, regardless of their party affiliation, and make sure that I select people from a wide swath of the political spectrum. I would encourage market-based initiatives to develop alternative fuels, and I would veto any budget that did not reduce the national debt. Finally, I would refuse to nominate any Attorney General who would prosecute drug-based crimes where no violent act or theft occurred, and work to end the "War on Drugs". Prohibition didn't work in the 1920s, and it doesn't work now.

Limits on Corporate donations to campaings.
Removal of lobbyists and special interest groups
Full disclosure of all meetings who was there not what was said.(the public is my boss after all).
Actually fill my staff with people who might make the country better instead of the spin doctors both parties employ.
Health care for all and the removal of HMO's.
Of course because of these things I'll never get in office. Oh ya AND IM CANADIAN, LOL.

1. Attempt to outlaw lobbyists (congress makes laws not the president)
2. end the 'War on drugs', its nothing more than an excuse to steal citizens private property
3. Force corporations to pay their share of taxes
4. force through distribution of alternate fuels thereby creating true competition to the oil companies.
5. disallow government tax subsidies for pharmaceutical companies who then patent new drugs from tax-paid research
6. End the policy of preemption that is dragging us into needless wars.
I'll think of more later

I'd veto every unconstitutional law passed by congress, which is 99.9% of them. Would that "shut down government?" Probably, but since the government has no business doing most of what the it does, that would be a good thing.

Please study government and realize the President can make no changes without the vote from Congress. Everything Pres. Bush has done was passed/approved by Congress and members of both parties.
