Can some one recommend a good book dealing with miserable marriage and amicable divorce?

That book helped me keep a nasty divorce from getting worse and has had more value in the separate households than any other. I am since remarried and the book continues to offer good solutions to the blended family dynamics that come up, etc.

The best way to end a miserable marriage is for the two of you to agree, that there is no reason to go on. You can then each hire attorneys and those people will drain your estate. There are now mediation attorneys, which are far cheaper. But you must pretty much agree who is going to get what. As for the big thing, like the house, you will need to decide on its value, and progress from there, assuming one of you wants it. The best advise anyone can get you is the less you have to do with attorneys, the cheaper it will be. You can actually get papers off the internet, file them at your county court house, and do it that way, but again, you must sit down, and decide who is to get what. Baring that, use the same attorney. You should be able to dissolve your marriage for less than $500. and avoid some traps that may spring up on you later.

There are two books which I can recommend you, I don't remember the Authors, one is " THE FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES" & the other is " PERSONALITY PLUS FOR COUPLES" & I ALSO RECOMMEND THAT BOTH OF YOU SHOULD NOT ONLY READ BUT ALSO PRACTISE IT!
