Okay, so I'll likely tick off every sales person in America with this suggestion, but when I was teenager and broke all the time and feeling "ugly" my best friend and I would fix our hair and makeup as best we could, get dressed to the nine in our most kick-a** outfits then head off to our favorite store and pick out the most AWESOME, and expensive, outfit to try on. (we made it look as if we actually had money to spend. You know, the whole "rich kid" image) We'd model for one another (complete with shoes and everything), and then tell the sales person we had to "think about it" and would come back later. Now, this doesn't mean let the salesperson hang onto it. Put the stuff away or let them know it's okay to put it back, but enjoy trying it on even if you can't afford it. We felt like a million bucks by the end of the day! Also, go to the larger department stores if there's one available (or even a Merle Norman) and ask for a complimentary makeover. Many times they'll do a mini-makeover for free. You can add items you like to your Christmas wish list and you'll have specifics on the colors and brand makeup

Well, pretty really does come from within. But to help that along, make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Water helps your skin stay clear and soft. Use a gentle cleanser to keep your skin in good, clean shape. If you like makeup, where your favorite eyeshadow or lipstick. That might help you perk up. If you are unfamiliar with makeup and want to try it out, get a makeover at a makeup counter. That can often boost your self-image because you see yourself in a different way.

Try wearing your hair in a differen way. Or taking a little more care with your outfit.

But, most importantly, remind yourself of the good things about your appearance. Most people are FAR more harsh towards themselves than towards others. Don't talk badly about yourself and your looks. Be kind to yourself and your self-image will improve.

Trust me that makeup that looks like it's applied by a spatula is grotesque to men... PLEASE don't go that route.

Work out (some of those strength training and aerobic classes are VERY popular with the ladies, groups like that will keep you motivated) and eat right... preferably a vegetarian diet.

And live an honest, clean life... maybe help others if you can, that will bring out the inner beauty in you big time.

The eyes are the mirror of the soul.

Get hair done and not at Great clips spend a little money to get it done right, it's the first thing people look at. And while your at it do your eye brows it helps so much. And if you need little more help Get your nails done it makes you feel good and give you the added self esteem. Because it's not really what you do to yourself that makes you pretty but hoe you feel about yourself. If it takes out side help get it done. It is so worth it. Above all enjoy yourself.
