I think dems stand for small businesses, civil rights, peace and justice, tolerance, helping the poor, universal health care, a living wage, balancing the budget, the environment, unions and laborers over management, campaign reform, public funding of elections, public schools and television, peace (unless war is absolutely necessary), social security, organic farming and nongenretically modified foods, no logging or drilling on public lands and parks, bancrupcy protection, poverty, animal rights, voting rights, clean water, clean air, aid to foreign countries in need, peace treaties (not beaking them all like Dubya did), honoring the geneva convention

Republicans stand for big monopolies and corporations and welfare to them, (they claim moral values but do nothing but talk about them--no action), vote fraud, big money interests, war profiteering, huge military spending and budgets (but cuts to vets programs), government waste (like losing over a trillion defense dollars, tax cuts to the rich, support for business over citizens rights in lawsuits, lack of concern to the least among us, big wasteful spending deficits, joblessness and outsourcing, management over workers, corporate media monopolies, predatory lending, credit card companies over people, tortue.

Dems also have morals, religious beliefs, and 43% are prolife. They love their country and the least among us.

(reps are apparently only prolife and properson before birth and before death ignoring the millions in between

Dem - strong in defending the individual at countrys expense.
***The southern states were democrat for the longest time especially after the civil war. The republicans were the strong central government minded party at the time of the civil war.
Rep - strong in defending the country at individuals expense.
***We fought a cvil war to have a strong country. Without a strong economy, plentiful job opportunities, and a country there will be no individual freedoms nor desire to defend them.

Dem - Government should have the control
***Unfortunately they went too far in regulating and strangled the economy under Jimmy Carter. And Johnson jeapordized social security by taking funds from therein to finance the Viet Nam war.
Rep - Individual should have their own control
***We need rules and regulations to live and work by, but we can over regulate and strangluate the economy and people's freedoms in the process. Sometimes we need rules to force people to do what it right for the community. Striking the correct balance is key to any rule or regulation being effective. Republicans have a better track record on this aspect. while Democrats have been more environmentally effective than Republicans, on many things they went too far and/or too fast.

Dem - More taxes to pay for desired control
Rep - Less taxes, so more money is in economy
***Need a balance ot both to operate properly. We have been over taxed too long. It is unfair for 10% to pay 60% of all taxes. The top tier income range pays the 60% of all taxes collected. That is a fact you may obtain for yourself from the IRS. I've never seen a street person who pays no taxes create jobs. People who creat jobs take the risks and should receive the rewards. When you tak the profit out of work, you have communism. History has proven that it will fail. Remove incentive, you loose creativity, inventive activity, and your economy fails. Even the Chineeses are learning to be capitalists. When they release total control and drop communism and allow the people to become "self governing", they will really become a force to recond with.

That is as honest and professional as it can get. Sure, there are individual issues, but they fall into the above 3 differences.
***Nice effort, did not lean towards being political for or against either point of view. Felt the need to add my 2 cents worth.
