I don't know. Ringo isn't the greatest drummer in the world, but he is damn good and he was the best drummer in Liverpool at the time. He had a very unusual style. Most drummers don't play like Ringo. I've seen Ringo live, and he's great. He still sounds good. Ringo solidified the band. Ever hear the tapes with Pete Best? Everything Best did was the same shuffle beat. Ringo was creative, energetic, and just damn good.
He sings some of my favorite Beatles songs, Matchbox, Boys, I Wanna Be Your Man, those are awesome songs.
In my opinion, Ringo's solo records were more consistent. George was my favorite, but had some crappy albums, John got too political and some of his records with Phil Spector were lacking, Paul's solo stuff was too often trite.
Ringo also had the best part in A Hard Day's Night, especially when acting opposite of Wilfred Brambell.
It should be noted that during the height of their popularity, Ringo did get the most fan mail.

I like all the beatles personally but the talent difference between Ringo and the other 3 are big.(that being said Ringo made their movies and his voice did provide good 4 part harmonies) but don't hate the man he is a Beatle.(need I say more)

I didn't like George Harrison. I never thought he belonged, not much personality I ever saw, even in his older years. Ringo was adorable and still is. John was my favorite when I was a teen ager in the 60's, but when they all went out on their own, I did like alot of John's music and I had some Ringo songs too, but I had the most from Paul. He had more in the 70's and early 80's that I loved. No George music, yuk!

Ringo joined the Beatles right before their big success. He replaced a guy named Pete Best. I think alot of folks did not think he was as talented as the rest. He was the one with the most personality in my view.

Maybe because he had an ENOURMOUS Shnozz... hah, no maybe because he was not an original Beatle, and because he wasnt as good looking... he gets better looking as he ages as with Geddy Lee.
But, no i dont find anything particularly wrong with the guy.. atleast hes surviving isnt he? He hasnt got shot or contracted any diseases that are known to us yet, right?
Give him credit for that... but yeah, it went Lennon, McCartney, Harrison/Ringo, in popularity, in general. : )
Lennon was on too many drugs in my opinion.. and when he was high, he was a sad Stoner...
McCartney was a Happy one :)
George Harrison had bad teeth, but he was pretty good looking.. and he was an amazing guitarist, when he wasnt playing 3 chordes..
and Ringo... nothin special.. he wore a plain black suit on the abbey road cover... thats enough eh?
