Man , the people who are into Role-Play server in World of Warcraft are the nerds of all nerds I have to say. I came accross the RP forum in the WoW forum once, and read their rules or something. Lol Its total freakiness... so sad..

RPers talk... like normal people. 99% of them don't trot out things like "prithee" or "thou" - the most you might see is someone using a dwarven brogue, or some of the night elves occasionally using phrases like "Ishnu alah." Other than that, it's pretty much standard communications, from "Does anyone know where I can find Old Emma" to "Flag's going tunnel."
Compare that to the PvP talking as "Lol n00b, i pwned joo!!!!111!!!!1" Um, yeah. Sure.

Well. I have heard them talk in my school. I guess I can see it being a bit sad. But you know what? I also find people who talk obsessively about sports that they had no role in sad too. They get so mad when someone insults "their team" despite they were no part of it at all. Its all a matter of opinion. And honestly I believe its just stereo-types. You call them nerds but thats because of what society calls them. And with technology increasing, games reaching a wider audience. I think the "nerd-bashers" will be the minority eventually...

Yes. I've seen them talk. I'm one of them. Its not sad if its done on an RP server. Its only sad when some player yells at you to talk normally instead of RPing, and you hafta reply "I am talking like I normally do, Knave."
Besides. Id rather talk weird and old-englishy than the noobish 1337 speak ive seen people use in pvp

Yes, but I think the big reason is that they pay money to play the game so they tend to take it more seriously. But mostly, some people are just jerks.
