After the last Ashes series I have a hell of a lot of respect for Brett Lee. His ability to accept he was on the losing side but to never give up trying and give his all for his side with bat and ball earned my respect. The sight of Flintoff consoling him after that epic test at Edgbaston showed not only how much he had given but how much spirit he had to be able to talk to anyone, most sportsmen would simply trudge away and hide in the dressing room.

I'm sure I'm supposed to say Shane Bond, given your picture and I've no doubt he's talented. He likes taking Aussie wickets, so who can't like him but to get the exposure and respect Lee does, he'll need to stay fit and get results. This isn't something he's managed for a while.

As for who's quicker? Lee, I think, by a shade, Lee certainly has the hostility and it's always nice to see a real fast bowler tear in, so let's hope we get to see Bond bowl more in the near future.

I prefer Brett Lee over Bond since he is faster and has a better record than Bond. Bond has a better ODI strike rate, but it is only a shade better than Lee's. If Bond had played as many matches as Lee, he may not have had such a great strike rate, so I choose the bowler who has more pace and the second best strike rate in history.
Lee is fitter compared to Bond who is always injured due to his poor fitness. Brett Lee is also the leading wicket taker in ODIs for the year and recently surpassed Kapil Dev with 254 wickets. He was also the the leading wicket taker in ODIs last year with 51 wickets at 19.

Lee more consistent? i wouldn't think so.

Bond has a better record, without the benefit of bowling to NZ batsman, which always helps a bowlers record.

Lee plays in more matches.

When you consider what Bond can do, his ability against all sides, what he means for his team, Bond is easily better.

Bond is the spearhead of the NZ attack, Lee has never been the spearhead of Australias, and without Mcgrath, he struggles.

I like Bond over Lee,

His father James, was a great actor and action fgure
Lee's father Bruce, was OK as martial arts figure, but not as enjoyable.
