I think that the blacking out and heart speeding/slowing are definetly anxiety attacks/panic (to some degree) attacks.
All of the things you just decribed can be attributed to stress, whether it is just a persistent small amount you deal with daily or a huge amount that was just dropped on you.
Either way, you may want to see a doctor as that would be the quickest and easiest solution.
If you want to try some home remedies first, try taking a day off from doing anything. Stay at home and take a warm shower, sleep late, do yoga, take a walk.
If the weather is nice and not that cold by you yet, you could try doing a jog in the morning before going where you need to go. Excersize helps release stress and you'd be surprised how much a habitual 10 minute walk can help you.

You didn't mention how old you are. It is true that you may be having increased stress, panic attacks, anxiety and/or depression but you may also be perimenopausal if the age is correct. Since we can't diagnose any of these things on the computer, make an appointment with your doctor for a full physical.

It could possibly be anemia which is an iron deficiency.
The symptoms of iron deficiency anemia (if any) are:
* Weakness and fatigue are the most common symptoms of even mild anemia. (Even iron deficiency without anemia can reduce working capacity in some people.)
* Shortness of breath on exertion.
* Rapid heartbeat.
* Lightheadedness or dizziness.
* Headache.
* Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
* Irritability and other mood disturbances.
* Pale skin (however, healthy-looking skin color does not rule out anemia if a patient has risk factors and other symptoms of anemia) .
* Restless leg syndrome (RLS) and other sleep disturbances.
* Mental confusion.
* Loss of sexual drive.

Depression and panic attacks. Panic attacks can mimic heart related issues. Start with your regular doctor and get a check-up (or call 9-1-1 immediately if you black out again). If your doctor says you are physically fine, then you can see a psychiatrist.

Take a pregnancy test, and GO TO THE DOC! I don't recall blacking out as being part of the hormone change. You could have a neurological prob going on.

If I were feeling badly the last place I would look for a diagnosis is on yahoo answers. Make an appointment with a doctor, and discuss your symptoms with him or her.
