How about do some real soul searching regarding goals? Turning 18 doesn't automatically make you a responsible adult. Look at it as kindegarten for women. You have the opportunity of a whole lifetime before you. What do you want to accomplish in 10 years; 5 years; 3 years, one year? Write it down. Where do you want to go? Make a list. I would also suggest you read your list of goals and then consider doing volunteer work based on the category. For instance, if you want to be a doctor, go work as a volunteer with people at the hospital. If you want to be a policewoman, there are auxillaries for young people. If you want to work with children, volunteer to read to terminally sick kids. This way, no only do you give of yourself, you receive respect, learn new things, are exposed to different people and you "network". Networking is very important. You might meet someone who has a friend, of a friend, of a friend, who can help you achieve you goals. Lastly, go out and have good, safe FUN!!! Please don't get married or have babies or shack up with anywone. FUN!! Take some ballroom dancing lessons; learn to love yourself. When I turned 18, I went and got my hair cut short to move into adulthood and not look like a highschool kid. I went to art museums and took classes. I saved and bought a car. You can do anything you want to do!!! If you can't decide, see a counselor at a local college and they can test you on what you would be a good career for you. Godloveyou....you're gonna do just fine, honey!

You know what, so many people feel that way when they turn 18. It seems like you are supposed to be a woman, but in all actuality, people will still think of you as a young person. Take it easy. Don't rush around trying to figure out your life plan. It will work itself out. You have time to think about it. What are you interests, hobbies? What makes you happy? Don't freak out. Things happen for a reason. Good Luck!

It's a hard time and I understand that. I was feeling pretty much the same at your age.
Try to relax about it. Talk to friends and family about what they might think a good carrier for you could be, in case you don't know even remotely what you want to do.
If you feel you want to move, do it but never burn any bridges
Eventually you will get a job and always have in mind that you need to save some money, even if its 5 buck a month. When I started doing this, and had some good money from my work, In 2 years i had the money to feel safe to open my own business.
And a tip. You will always feel lost at some points, that never goes away but you have to keep it together

The way you feel is normal. It is a big transition from minor to adult. Keep in mind that life is a journey. You are not suppose to have all the answers right away. Life is about the experience of self discovery that happens over a life time. Try to do things you enjoy and work in a field you like. Learn as much as you can and experience everything. Don't trust everyone you meet and when you do feel you can trust someone it is okay to let them in. You won't escape pain, it is a part of life. As love is.

I really remember feeling that way and I still do at times, and I am 31.
Don't feel like you NEED a man to feel complete
Don't feel like you NEED to get married anytime soon.
Don't let others walk all over you, stand up for yourself.
Love yourself for who you are and don't criticize yourself all the time.
Smile as much as you can and walk with your chin up, looking the world in the face.
Attend a few classes at your local community college, take classes that interest you. Maybe you will find some direction you'd like to head towards.
I wish that someone would have told me those things when I turned 18.

Do anything and everything you can. The world is your oyster. Travel abroad.
Get your education. If you don't feel like you can finish school at least get an associates. It will help you down the line when you're look for work and want to get paid.
Don't rush into having children. They're wonderful to have, but take this time for yourself.
Don't get in over neck with useless debt either. New clothes and a fine car will come with age.
Just be happy and true to yourself.

First of all... you don't have to act like anything...Just be yourself...and by the way you are still just a little girl just in a bigger body, when i was eighteen Man I thought I knew everything, I was wrong! wisdom comes with age and time so don't push yourself so hard because before ya know it your getting older and finding yourself writting these things. I was a wild child and now I teach my daughter (she's 11 now) to do the right thing and to be herself above all! your probably just having a bad day it will get better. Just look at one day at a time, don't live for the future live for today.. It will all come when the time is right. Trust Me..sunnydays

Go to school now don't put it off. It sucks even more starting classes at 20 and not being able to remember anything from high school. Don't act grown up enjoy the time you have now to have fun and be young. Don't move out on your own and if you move out have lots of roomates.
